Congratulations to our July Agent of the Month, Kim Bodell! Kim joined our team in 2024, and her well-rounded approach to her business has made her a standout agent from the start. She values mentorship, organization, and a goal-oriented approach that puts her clients first, always. Keep reading to learn more about Kim!

What three words would you use to describe your approach to the real estate business?:

Full service teamwork.

What's one aspect of your business that you are looking to improve on this year? In what ways/how would like to see yourself improve?:

Organization and systems. I am working on having a written protocol for everything! New escrows, listing protocol, requests for repairs, etc.

To what do you attribute your success most?:

I was lucky enough to have an incredible mentor and join a team. This helped me get thrown into the fire and learn with firsthand experience very quickly!

If you had one piece of advice for someone just starting out in real estate, what would it be?:

Join a team! Find a mentor with a great reputation who's willing to invest in you. Real estate can be done many different ways, so who you learn from matters, and their belief and investment in you can skyrocket your career.

What's the one piece of advice you always give your clients first?:

Don't lose sight of your goals in the process. A deal is made when both sides feel like they got a little something, so don't get caught worrying about what the other side is doing. Keep your focus on your goals and your "why."

Failure is a natural part of achieving success. How do you recoup when things don't necessarily go your way?:

I give myself an hour to be upset (and complain.. a lot) and then I force myself to take action towards a solution or find the lesson. We lose more than we win in sales, so you get better at having thick skin with time and practice.

If work-life balance is important to you how can you tell if you are getting it right?:

This is one of my hardest challenges as a mom in this business, but as long as my family feels that I'm present when I'm home and my clients feel my work ethic when I'm working, then I'm getting as close to balance as possible.

What roles have mentors played in your life and career?:

The most massive role...Without great mentorship and opportunities provided, my career would have taken years to get off the ground.

What risks were you willing to take when starting out in your career and how have they benefitted you?:

I was willing to quit my job and go all in. Even with a mortgage and children at the time. I had a belief I could do this, and I knew if I put the pressure on myself, I would make it work.

If you could only ever visit one business again in Sonoma/Napa/Mendocino/SF County, what would it be and why?:

Starks! It's my husband and I's all all-time favorite restaurants. We go for all our celebrations and date nights.
