What was the first thing you wrote on your to-do list for today?:

Finish bathroom renovation on unit B of my quadplex.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?:

If you do what is easy life will be hard, if you do what is hard life will be easy.

What is your favorite part about working in real estate in this part of the world?:

Safety and income potential.

Tell us about a recent challenge you came upon and how you conquered it.:

Had a tough fixer listing with difficult tenants, differed maintenance, and a difficult seller, so I bought it at a large discount.

What role has mentorship played in your career?:

A large one. Lucky to have Mike Ferl (our North Bay real estate stud) teach me how to sell residences and become a great salesperson. Also a huge thank you to my Los Angeles multifamily and commercial mentor Cameron Samimi. Cameron has sold the most multifamily in LA for three years straight. He taught me to talk to sellers first as you are a buyer, and if it is not a great deal list it or sell it off market to someone else. I’ve found all four of my properties this way.

What’s your favorite home design feature that you wish more homes had?:

TRIM! I love beautiful decorative trim.

If you could have dinner with anyone, dead or alive, who would you choose and why?:

My late mother-in-law. I would love one last dinner with her and bring my wife Madison!

Someone is coming to visit Sonoma/Mendocino/SF County. Where should they go first?:

Healdsburg!

What’s something you’re looking forward to in the upcoming year? (Wedding, vacation, new opportunity, etc.):

Christmas with my family!
